Abstract
Aim: recognize the role community health agent about carrier care of mental disorder. Methods: the theme was addressed through integrative literature derevisão, the following key words were used: mental health, community health agent and primary health, works published in the period from 2007 to 2013. Results: participated in this review 15 items that were discussed in the light of the thematic analysis of content, configuring the categories: mental disorders and the family health Strategy (FHS), the role of the ACS, the meaning of mental disorder to the ACS and ACS and training in mental health. Conclusions: the ACS is a strategic element in the reorientation of primary health attention for creating effective links with the community in its territory. So they act with know and popular scientific facilitating the implementation of major strategies in mental health care.
