Abstract
Objective: Evaluate, based on recent bibliographic productions, the importance of dressing and undressing personal protective Equipment, focusing mainly on aerosol infections and highlighting the recent corona virus infection. Methods: It is an integrative literature review with a qualitative approach. The searches of the articles were carried out in the SCIELO, PUBMED, and VHL databases. Inclusion criteria were available original articles, in full, published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish; and the exclusion criteria were outdated articles, incomplete texts that do not contain data with the proposed objective and outside the time frame. Results: The study made it possible to reflect on the discussion in the following categories: risk factors for contamination to health professionals when caring for patients with coronavirus, aerosol-generating procedures by COVID-19, and preventive measures concerning COVID-19 in dressing, undressing, and correct disposal of PPE's. Final considerations: Given the repercussions of covid-19 it is necessary to guide health professionals with theoretical knowledge and practical training in the dressing, undressing, and safe disposal of PPE's, taking into account aerosol-generating procedures.
