Abstract
Leishmaniasis is caused by protozoa of the genus Leishmania, with infrequent the presentation restricted to the mucosa. Although the nasal mucosa is the main site affected in this form of the disease, it is also possible the involvement of the lips, mouth, pharynx and larynx. The lesions are very characteristic, but often your diagnosis is not made, or it is done late. Differential diagnosis should be made with neoplasms, infectious and granulomatous diseases such as blastomycosis, leprosy and tuberculosis. Treatment isn’t yet consensus and its choice may vary according to the patient's profile, the species involved and the clinical presentation of the disease.
