Abstract
Objective: to identify how palliative care interferes in the improvement of the quality of survival of terminal breast cancer patients. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature, carried out in the PubMed databases of BIREME-VHL from October to November 2016. Results: breast cancer patients lived longer and with a higher quality of life due to palliative care Than those who only had conventional treatment, in addition to controlling pain and other social and psycho-spiritual problems related to neoplasia that affected their quality of life. Conclusion: it is concluded that palliative care is of great relevance for improving the quality of life for patients with end-stage cancer, providing them with increased survival and greater autonomy compared to patients receiving only treatment.
