Abstract
Objective: To compare the psychomotor levels among children practicing field tennis, futsal and school physical education from 8 to 12 years of age. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study conducted in the city of Montes Claros, Minas Gerais. A Psychomotor Battery from Vitor da Fonseca (BPM) was used to determine the psychomotor profile. In this battery, the laterality, body notion and spatiotemporal structure were evaluated, being classified in apraxic, dyspraxic, euphoric and hyperpractical profiles. Descriptive statistics were analyzed as simple frequencies and percentages. The analysis was performed using the chisquare test, being adopted p <0.05. Results: A balance can be observed between the groups in the classification of lateral factors, body notion and temporal space structuring, especially in tennis players. However, there is no problem of school laterality for the physical inferiority profile, regarding the body notion of futsal, that is, with a satisfactory motor profile, but it was classified in temporal temporal structuring with higher frequencies of dyspraxics. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was no significant difference non-standard motor laterality, body notion and temporal space structuring, among children practicing field tennis, futsal and school physical education. However, tennis and futsal practitioners present a better performance in the performed activities when compared to the students.
