Abstract
Objective: To develop up-to-date consensus recommendations with perspectives for botulinum toxin injection and hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers during and post COVID-19 pandemic. Bibliographic review: Minimally invasive treatments are still the most sought after aesthetic procedures worldwide. Therefore, consensus guidelines are extremely important as they address safety precautions regarding botulinum toxin (TXB-A) injection and hyaluronic acid (HA) filling procedures. Mainly in the current situation, where there is an imminent risk of infection and transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus between the patient and the professional in aesthetic clinics. The changes taking place today are necessary to protect patients from the complications of minimally invasive treatments, since the pathophysiological and immunological characteristics of the coronavirus are still uncommon. Final considerations: COVID-19 pandemic redefined the performance of professionals and esthetic clinics, requiring, in the current context, the adjustment of recommendations as presented in this guideline. These efforts include social distancing, anamnesis and risk screening for Covid-19, temperature measurement and hygiene control, investigation of the patient's health status through laboratory tests and adequate attire.
