Abstract
Objective: To describe the ways of coping and operationalizing work in Primary Health Care in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bibliographic review: The COVID-19 pandemic brought a challenge to the health system and society with numerous repercussions on the structure of the work process in health services. It imposed the organization and adequacy of health care services, with the definition of roles and flows, either in the service provided by COVID-19 or to face the various health needs that emerged. Indispensable issues such as establishing appropriate protocols for different social scenarios, hiring new professionals, multidisciplinary work, health education, as well as the work carried out through social media has been fundamental for the pandemic period. Final considerations: Organized Primary Health Care with trained professionals can contribute to mitigating the effects of a crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is extremely important that this important instrument be strengthened and prioritized by public managers.
