Abstract
Objective: To analyze the perspective of pregnant women about normal delivery. Methods: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach was carried out with pregnant women in a Basic Health Unit in the south of Tocantins. Results: The sample consisted of 14 pregnant women, with a gestational age between 14 weeks and 40 weeks and 5 days, aged between 20 and 38 years of age, and 38.46% of the pregnant women were, so far, presenting 7 or more prenatal consultations. 69.23% said they did not believe they had any harm in this type of delivery. 15.38% report that pre, trans and postpartum complications and all the suffering and pain is a great disadvantage. Conclusion: The benefits of normal delivery were known to most pregnant women, even though the vast majority had never experienced it. It was found that educational activities exerted positive influences on the pregnant woman's view of normal delivery. However, most pregnant women ended up looking for information about this topic in electronic media, as health professionals had little focus on carrying out health education about the types of delivery, their benefits, harm and specificities, especially the professional nurse.
