Resumen

Objective: To analyze changes in behavior and understanding of hygiene care because of Covid-19. Methods: Mixed, adopting at first a quantitative analysis and, subsequently, a qualitative. A form was applied in which rated their health measures before and during the pandemic using the Likert scale, followed by directed interviews with the participants of the most relevant results in the previous stage. Data analyzed according to Bardin's content analysis. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee.  Results: There was a significant increase in the sanitary measures. It was possible to separate 3 groups: Those who had high adherence, those with regular adherence and those with low adherence. The expressions highlighting the importance of hand hygiene and the use of masks stood out, but with a notorious disconnect between the behavior adopted and knowledge about the virus. The analysis also found a relationship of guilt and moral obligation linked to physical isolation measures. Conclusion: The changes are notorious, but it is not clear whether they will be measures that will remain after the pandemic, in addition to a clear mismatch between the transmission routes and the most adopted protection strategies.
