Resumen
Objective: To identify in scientific literature predictive factors associated successful varicocele surgery for infertility. Methods: Integrative review, with articles published between 2019 and 2023, in Portuguese, English and Spanish and full text available. The guiding question was used: What are the predictive factors associated successful varicocele surgery for infertility? The bibliographic research was carried out in november 2023 in the databases: Pubmed, Virtual Health Library, Scielo and Science Direct, through the Health Sciences Descriptors: Varicocele, Infertility, Artificial Intelligence and predictors, performing combinations with the terms using Boolean operator “AND”. Results: 27 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, of which 06 articles in Science Direct, 14 in Pubmed, and 07 in the Virtual Health Library. Regarding the type of study, 9 were cohort, 6 review, 2 prospective, 3 retrospective, 2 clinical trials, 3 intervention, 1 experimental and 2 observational. Final considerations: It is concluded that some factors may be predictors of success in varicocele surgery. Among them are hormonal parameters, presence of reflux on ultrasound, surgical technique and aspects in pre-operative spermogram, nomograms, machine learning and modeling were some methods used by the authors.
