Resumen
Objetivo: Evaluar el conocimiento del equipo interdisciplinario de salud neonatal de un hospital de referencia sobre el cuidado de la alimentación de recién nacidos con labio y paladar hendido. Métodos: Estudio exploratorio, descriptivo y transversal con enfoque cuantitativo, realizado con 210 profesionales de la salud del departamento de neonatología de la institución mediante la administración de un cuestionario. Resultados: La principal preocupación de los profesionales se relacionaba con la posibilidad de amamantar. La mayoría reconoció la posición semisentada como ideal para la alimentación de los recién nacidos e indicó el biberón como el utensilio más seguro. Sin embargo, muchos refirieron no saber cómo ajustar la tetina y desconocían las maniobras para facilitar la alimentación. Conclusión: Los hallazgos revelan lagunas significativas en el conocimiento del equipo interdisciplinario, especialmente en lo que respecta a las técnicas de alimentación y el uso de utensilios apropiados. Por lo tanto, la implementación de programas de capacitación y educación continua para el equipo es esencial para garantizar prácticas seguras y basadas en la evidencia en el cuidado de los recién nacidos con labio y paladar hendido.
