Abstract

Objective: To describe the sociodemographic and obstetric profile of pregnant women with syphilis whose sexual partners were treated. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study. Conducted in 12 Primary Health Care Units in the city of Fortaleza. The population studied was pregnant women with syphilis, who were undergoing prenatal care from 2021 to October 2022. Data collection was carried out from August to October 2021. 53 pregnant women were included, all women who had a sexual partner at the time of diagnosis and underwent treatment for syphilis. Data were collected from a questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program. Results: The majority of the pregnant women were over 20 years old at the time of the interview, self-reported brown color was predominant, 39 (73.3%) said they did not have a paid job. Regarding education, 32 (60.4%) had only completed elementary school. Conclusion: The importance of the partner in adherence to treatment was observed, as he is also responsible for the pregnant woman's bond with the health service, being able to contribute with her presence or make the treatment unfeasible in her absence.
