Abstract
Objective: To discuss, based on scientific evidence, the non-motor manifestations of Parkinson's Disease (PD). Methods: This is an Integrative Review (IR) of a descriptive and exploratory nature. Thus, in order to elaborate the guiding question, the domains of the PECo strategy were applied. A bibliographic survey was carried out in May 2023 in the following databases: IBECS via VHL, MEDLINE via PubMed, Embase via Cochrane Library and Science Direct. DeCS and MeSH were selected as descriptors, both being connected by the Boolean AND operator. Thus, 12 scientific productions were selected to compose the final sample. Results: The Non-Motor Symptoms (NMSs) of PD are: pain, sleep disorders, cognitive, neuropsychiatric and autonomic symptoms and sensory alterations. In view of this, it is observed that when well evaluated, the SNM's of PD, when well evaluated, can favor the identification of those at high risk for the development of this disease, in addition to determining the therapeutic strategies that can positively impact the Quality of Life (QoL). Final considerations: It was found that the non-motor manifestations of PD are diverse and have the potential to preclude the diagnosis in up to decades. In addition, these directly affect the QoL of the individual.
