Abstract
Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence on the increase in breast milk production among lactating women. Methods: Integrative literature review based on articles published in the Medline database and Scholar Google, PubMed, LILACS, Virtual Health Library - BVS and Capes Periodicals. The eligibility criteria allowed the incorporation of 18 scientific productions to compose the results. Results: Most studies were carried out in Indonesia, with a higher predominance of randomized controlled trials. Publications were categorized into non-drug strategies (electroacupuncture, acupressure, traditional acupuncture, relactation, use of heat, basic breastfeeding management, affirmative relaxation and massages with different approaches), use of herbal medicines and diet therapy (Silymarin-Phosphatidylserine, Galega, Zengru Grao, Srijela and various soups), as well as the use of medication in different dosages, such as domeperidone. Final Considerations: The study can provide subsidies for the development of easily accessible technological tools, such as Standard Operating Procedures, folders and educational pamphlets, as well as a digital application for the prevention of hypogalactia, being a healthy alternative for the care of nursing mothers and knowledge for health professionals.
