Abstract

Objective: To review the challenges, risks and benefits of using robotic surgery in contemporary medical practice. Literature review: Robotic surgery is an advanced form of surgical procedure that uses robotic technology to assist surgeons during interventions. It offers advantages such as greater precision, less invasiveness, less blood loss and faster recovery times compared to traditional techniques. Additionally, robotic surgery allows physicians to perform complex procedures with greater dexterity and reach, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Final considerations: Robotic surgery presents significant challenges and benefits in the modern world. Although costs and the need for specialized training are hurdles to be overcome, the use of this technology can lead to better clinical outcomes for patients. It is essential to continue the research and development of robotic surgery in order to improve its techniques, expand its application and make it more accessible to a greater number of patients.
