Abstract
Objective: To carry out an integrative review of the literature, analyzing effective strategies to promote humanization in the adult ICU and contribute to the recovery of patients. Methods: By adopting a methodology composed of six distinct phases, from identifying the topic to presenting the integrative review of the information obtained, the study identifies multiple successful strategies, including the promotion of effective communication, the creation of a welcoming environment, encouraging patient autonomy and recognizing the nursing team. Results: The discussions emphasize the benefits of humanization in the ICU, both for patient recovery and team satisfaction, while reflecting on the challenges and limitations in the practical implementation of these strategies. Final considerations: The fundamental importance of humanization in the ICU for patient recovery and team satisfaction is highlighted, suggesting that the identified strategies can serve as a foundation for more humanized practices. However, the need to overcome challenges such as the scarcity of resources and the resistance of the nursing team is highlighted, highlighting the importance of a joint effort to ensure a positive and healthy experience for patients.
