Abstract

Objective: To carry out an epidemiological analysis with data on erectile dysfunction due to COVID-19. Methods: This is an integrative review, carried out based on a bibliographic survey in the PubMed (U.S. National Library of Medicine) and SciElo (scientific electronic library online) databases with the following descriptors: ''Erectile Dysfunction, Covid-19 '' and its equivalent in English ''Erectile Dysfunction, Covid-19'', corresponding to the period from 2021 to 2023. To select the studies, free articles available on the platforms published in the aforementioned period in English and Portuguese were read. Furthermore, articles that were inconsistent with the descriptors were excluded, as well as studies that were not free and those that were published outside the target date. Results: 128 studies were requested based on the descriptors, however, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, only 6 articles were selected to compose the body of the present study and then subjected to thorough analysis for responsible and impartial extraction of information. Conclusion: The studies analyzed showed a significant association between previous COVID-19 infection and the increased risk of developing ED, especially after recovery. In addition to the importance of considering psychological factors, such as anxiety and depression, as contributors to this condition.
