Abstract
Objective: To analyze the psychometric properties of the Brazilian version of the Sedentary Behavior Questionnaire for Adults (SBQ). Methods: This is psychometric research, carried out using the following procedures: 1) reliability analysis through test-retest, with a two-week difference between interviews, with data submitted to the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient; 2) testing evidence of validity through partial correlation, with another test and convergent-discriminant, both analyzed separately in males and females. Absolute agreement analysis using the Bland-Altman scatterplot was also performed. The population consisted of two samples, the first consisting of 50 adults over 18 years of age who answered the questionnaire for reliability analysis, and the second sample consisted of 337 adults over 18 years of age who answered the questionnaire for validity analysis. Results: Reliability presented five of the evaluated items with accurate and/or acceptable results regardless of data distribution. The validity analysis showed that all items referring to total time had a large effect on both men and women. Conclusion: The Brazilian version of the questionnaire is reliable and has evidence of validity. The results support the use of the questionnaire in Brazilian adults.
