Abstract
Objective: To report the case of esthetic and functional rehabilitation of a patient who suffered dental trauma to tooth 21, with crown fracture and pulp necrosis, after a fall from their own height. Case details: The patient, a 30-year-old male, received endodontic treatment, along with the placement of a fiberglass post and direct composite resin restoration. The chemical-mechanical preparation of the canal was performed using the Oregon technique, which involved neutralization of the apical and middle thirds followed by instrumentation of the apical third. After obturation, the fiberglass post was reanatomized and cemented, followed by direct composite resin restoration of the tooth crown. Three months after the rehabilitative procedure, the patient returned, presenting good esthetics and function of the dental element. Final considerations: After the diagnosis of pulp necrosis and tooth fracture, endodontic treatment followed by the placement of a fiberglass post and direct composite resin restoration was the most viable treatment, showing good esthetic and functional results, as well as improving the patient’s quality of life.
