Abstract

Objective: To analyze the fall risk assessment scales available in the scientific literature. Method: This is an integrative literature review conducted in January 2025 using the following databases: MEDlars Online, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences, Nursing Database, National Library of Medicine, and Web of Science and Scientific Electronic Library Online. The descriptors in Health Sciences were: "Risk Fall," "Scale," and "Assessment," combined with the Boolean operator "AND." The PICO strategy was used to formulate the guiding question, and the PRISMA recommendation was followed to identify, select, and include the studies in this review. Results: Seventy-four studies were selected for analysis and full reading, of which 38 were organized according to year, identified scales, title, and authors. Of these, 26 fall risk assessment scales were grouped into the following specialties: geriatrics, pediatrics, hospitalized adults, obstetrics, neurology, and general. These scales were categorized according to the degree of risk and the main criteria specific to each scale. Final considerations: Assessment scales are considered tools for identifying and controlling fall risk and are used as a fundamental intervention strategy for prevention.
