Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of nursing undergraduates about nurse's performance in the cardiopulmonary arrest. Methods: Auantitative, cross-sectional study. The sample included 88 nursing students. Data collection was performed with the help of a semi-structured questionnaire. Results and discussion: Most of the interviewed academics were female 83%, aged between 17 and 27 years old and 59.1% already work in the health area. Regarding the knowledge about CRP, the students correctly defined the survival chain of an in-hospital patient under CRP. Nursing undergraduates have a good knowledge regarding cardiopulmonary arrest and the nurse's duties in relation to this situation. Conclusions: It should be noted that identifying the level of knowledge of the students and the experiences lived during the undergraduate nursing, in order to contribute to the improvement of the planning of education and training of future nurses to act in situations of cardiac arrest.
