Abstract

Objective: To analyze the impacts of implementing managerial processes on the performance of Rapid Response Teams (RRT) in emergencies within adult inpatient settings. Methods: An integrative literature review conducted in the PubMed, LILACS and BDENF databases. The DeCS descriptors “hospital rapid response team,” “clinical deterioration,” “clinical protocols,” and “hospital management” were used, combined with Boolean operators. After applying the inclusion criteria and analyzing the results, 14 articles were selected to compose the final sample. Results: The findings demonstrate that the implementation of Rapid Response Teams in healthcare institutions positively impacts care quality, highlighting early warning scores as essential tools for detecting signs of clinical deterioration and activating the RRT. The presence of institutional protocols, support technologies, and qualified teams were also identified as contributing factors to service quality. Conclusion: RRTs tend to produce positive impacts on clinical outcomes; however, the absence of strategic management may result in drawbacks that outweigh the benefits of their implementation.
