Abstract

Objective: To identify the validated instruments used and the respective domains assessed in the measurement of quality of life among women with breast cancer in Brazil. Methods: A scoping review was conducted in the OASISBR, BVS Portal, PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, using a combination of terms related to the topic of interest, with no temporal restriction. Based on the full-text reading of the selected studies, the information to be extracted from the records was defined, including: Author(s)/year, Study design/location, Objective, Instruments used/complementary scales, and Main results. Results: Twenty-four articles were included in the review. Among the questionnaires identified, the EORTC QLQ-C30 was the most frequently used, and the most commonly assessed domains were fatigue, pain, body image, and emotional and sexual functioning. Final considerations: Different instruments were identified for assessing the quality of life of women with breast cancer in the Brazilian context, with a predominance of the EORTC QLQ-C30 and its specific module, the EORTC QLQ-BR23. Among the main recurrent domains, fatigue, pain—reported in more than one instrument—body image, and sexual functioning stood out. Understanding these aspects may support interventions more specifically tailored to women's needs, promoting comprehensive and quality-of-life-centered care.
