Abstract
Objective: Profile of HIV-positive patients in the city of Marabá, Pará, based on medical records of new cases registered between 2021 and 2023 by the Centro de Pruebas y Asesoramiento (CTA). Demographic concentrations were analyzed such as analyzing their age range, ethnicity, educational level and marital status to establish possible statistical relationships. Methods: Retrospective, descriptive, observational and quantitative study. Results: Of the 39 pregnant women, 92.3% were mixed-race women, predominantly with low and medium educational levels; 59% identify themselves as "housewives", while the remaining 41% are students or other professions. A reduction in the number of diagnoses of 52% was observed between 2022 and 2023. No significant association was found between the analyzed variables. The results show social vulnerability, low educational level and lack of formal employment, consistent with regional data. Furthermore, diagnoses in local cities and rural areas support the role of Marabá as a diagnostic center. Conclusion: There is a predominance of women embarrassed by social vulnerability, with an urban distribution. Given the lack of significant statistics, more research is required to determine the social determinants of this population.
