Abstract

Objective: To develop and validate workshops based on active methodologies for teaching the clinical management of pulmonary and laryngeal tuberculosis to undergraduate students and Family and Community Medicine residents. Methods: Methodological study with development, validation, and educational intervention stages. Of the 160 eligible students, 158 participated in the workshops; 113 completed the characterization survey, 60 evaluated the workshop, 54 evaluated the handbook's appearance, and 49 were included in the descriptive paired comparison before and after the intervention. Results: The instructional sequence achieved a Content Validity Index of 0.959, Cronbach's alpha of 0.935, and 91.8% approval. The handbook appearance obtained a total Appearance Validity Index of 0.975 and 96.0% approval. Among the 49 paired participants, overall performance varied from 73.9% to 77.3% (+3.5 percentage points), with the largest variation in Treatment (+9.5 percentage points). Conclusion: The workshops were well evaluated, and a modest descriptive improvement in immediate cognitive performance was observed, especially in Treatment. The absence of a comparison group prevents causal attribution to the intervention.
