Abstract

Objective: To describe the epidemiological profile and territorial distribution of confirmed Acute Chagas Disease cases in Pará from 2015 to 2024. Methods: A descriptive, retrospective epidemiological study using secondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN/DATASUS). Data collection and processing occurred via TabWin and Microsoft Excel, analyzing sociodemographic, clinical-epidemiological, and territorial variables through descriptive statistics. Results: A total of 3,057 cases were confirmed during the period, peaking in 2024 (15.01%). Males (54.10%), individuals aged 20 to 59 years (58.91%), and those with incomplete elementary education (40.76%) predominated. Oral transmission was the primary mode of infection (89.24%), and households were the most frequent site of contagion (70.53%). Laboratory criteria confirmed 95.22% of diagnoses, and cure (alive status) occurred in 88.32% of records. The Tocantins and Marajó II Health Regions concentrated 65.22% of cases, with Abaetetuba (12.27%) and Breves (11.58%) standing out. Final considerations: The disease is characterized by the dominance of oral transmission, socio-occupational vulnerability, and marked concentration in municipalities with significant agro-extractive activity and food circulation, requiring health surveillance and longitudinal care in the Unified Health System.
