Abstract

Objective: To describe the experience lived during the Obstetric Nursing Residency in contact with women during the pregnancy-puerperal period at the In-Hospital Normal Childbirth Center of two public maternity hospitals in the State of Amazonas. Experience Report: This is a descriptive study, type of Experience Report. For methodological basis, we used the method of systematization of experiences, proposed by Holliday OJ (2006), which describes 1) The starting point; 2) The initial questions; 3) Recovery of the process experienced; 4) Deep reflection; 5) Arrival points. The experience of direct contact with women in the pregnancy-puerperal period at CPNI was experienced during the Obstetric Nursing Residency Program of a Higher Education institution in Amazonas / University Hospital, in the years 2018 to 2020. Final Considerations: The experience at CPNI’s during residency in obstetric nursing allowed nurses to provide continuous, comprehensive and qualified care, based on scientific evidence that allowed the protagonism and uniqueness of women during the parturition process. The training in the residency modality contributed to the construction of a critical-reflective, safe and qualified professional for assistance in childbirth and birth, based on knowledge and sustained in lived experiences.
