From the choice of descriptors was used as inclusion criteria existing articles in the database of the Virtual Health Library (BVS), published in the years 2002 to 2012, in Portuguese and who possessed the full text. There was obtained a total of eight articles for analysis. Results: The results indicate the predominance of negative conceptions of nursing students about alcohol and alcoholism, and show evidence of weakness in specific theoretical knowledge. Conclusion: The expansion of studies on alcoholism becomes crucial, since the recognition of inappropriate attitudes by nurses and reflections about their behavior may be beginning to change as the behavior of professionals toward alcoholics.
