Abstract
Objective: To identify as integrative and complementary practices used in the prevention and/or treatment of diabetic foot. Methods: This is an integrative review carried out between February and March 2021, whose search was carried out on the bases: BVS, BVS-MTCI, PubMed, SciELO and Scopus, using the descriptors: diabetic foot, alternative medicine, complementary therapies and traditional Chinese medicine. Results: The search resulted in 12 articles, nine of which were about the treatment of diabetic foot using complementary therapies and three about prevention. Seven studies have been conducted in Asian countries and eleven studies have had entirely beneficial results. The most used integrative practice was foot massage, totaling five studies. Final considerations: It was possible to notice the small amount of studies on the subject in Brazil and that studies on the prevention of diabetic foot are not prioritized. It is necessary to carry out further studies on the use of these practices aimed at diabetic foot, their effects and improvement by health professionals on the subject.
