School environment and health education with adolescents: experience report

Abstract

Objective: To promote health education actions for adolescents with themes relevant to the age group in order to promote quality of life. Experience report: Assistance practice of health education, developed in a public school in the city of in a small city in the central-west region of Rio Grande do Sul, with students of both sexes, enrolled in the 6th and 7th year of elementary school, aged 11 to 13 years, five meetings were held with the adolescent public. The practice of health education is directly present in the work process of nurses, being a practice intrinsic to health care. Health work assigns a specific, complex, diversified, ingenious and dynamic universe. This practice can be seen as a light science because it is an activity linked to the worker-individual interaction, their intentions, their knowledge and subjectivities, having as professional skills and attitudes, linked to a unique technique of producing the care process in health. Final considerations: It was possible to observe the need that this public demands, with themes related to health, the experiences brought by them demonstrate the lack of knowledge in the areas addressed.
