Abstract
Objective: To understand the most frequent respiratory diseases in the winter period and to correlate their development and worsening with the climatic variations of the period. Bibliographic review: In winter there is an increase in rhinitis and occupational asthma, also defined as rhinitis and allergic asthma, which are developed in the work environment, given the presence of an allergen, which tend to be more frequent in the winter period, exacerbating the symptoms and respiratory problems of workers at this time of year. In winter the air becomes dry and cold, which is irritating to the human airways. Thus, patients with hypersensitivity such as asthma and rhinitis suffer greatly from the onset of crises. In this way, it is recommended to leave the environment humid, but carefully because the excessive use of measures to humidify the air can leave the place very humid, spreading fungi and contributing to the worsening of symptoms. Final considerations: In view of this, studies are needed to help obtain a better understanding of the relationship between winter and respiratory diseases, to identify risk factors for the emergence and aggravations of the aforementioned diseases and thus contribute to an improvement in quality of life.
