Abstract
Objective: To discuss about the relevance of the nursing appointment in a school environment in the preventive approach to suicide among adolescents. Experience report: The appointments were held in the period from September 1st, 2022 to September 30th, 2022, with adolescents aged 14-19 years from 1st to 3rd year of high school. A nursing consultation script was used with objective and subjective information evaluating family history, family dynamics, hygiene skills and eating habits, drug use, sexual health, and on the psychological part: significant events, bullying, violence suffered (physical and psychological), suicidal ideation, self-inflicted injuries. There were vital sign measurements, anthropometric data calculations, Snellen Test for visual acuity, Tanner Stages, records, and delivery of the Adolescent Notebook. Final considerations: Nursing within this mental health context provides help and comfort by working with therapeutic listening and orienting students about their conflicts.
