Abstract
Objective: To verify the time required to safely perform orthodontic treatment - following antineoplastic intervention using angiogenesis inhibitors - and to understand the risks and benefits of treatment. Methods: This is an integrative literature review. Twenty-five articles were included in the study, based on the guiding question: What is the time required for safe orthodontic treatment after antineoplastic intervention using angiogenesis inhibitors? Results: According to the studies found, orthodontists should consider the regression period of the disease - approximately 2 years - for orthodontic intervention, always ensuring a satisfactory risk-benefit ratio for the patient. Final Considerations: The studies included in the sample, although reporting the safety time to start orthodontic treatment - approximately 02 years - do not support this statement. These are studies with low scientific evidence that do not scientifically clarify the adequate waiting period for orthodontic treatment in patients with a history of antineoplastic treatment.
