Abstract

Objective: To identify the existence of instrument(s) that measure health literacy on childhood vaccination among caregivers. Methods: This is an integrative review, with articles published between 2017 and 2023, carried out in five stages. The guiding question of the research was: Is there an instrument in the scientific literature that measures health literacy about childhood vaccination among caregivers? The research was conducted in the databases PubMed, MEDLINE, LILACS, SCIELO, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, DOAJ and Google Scholar search engine, according to established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: We selected 6 articles after the inclusion and exclusion criteria, in which 2 specific instruments were found to assess the health literacy of parents and caregivers about childhood vaccination. It was observed: predominance of adapted instruments, especially the European Questionnaire on Health Literacy; evaluation of individual vaccines and complete vaccination schedule; The frequent target audience is mothers. Final Considerations: There are already instruments available that assess health literacy about childhood vaccination for parents and caregivers, but only one underwent a psychometric validation test.
