Abstract
Objective: To analyze the incidence of anxiety and depression symptoms in healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2023. Methods: It is a descriptive study and consists of an integrative review. Databases such as MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS, VHL and SCIELO were used, in January and February 2024. Using the following descriptors present in Decs and Mash: Covid-19, pandemic, anxiety, depression and health professionals. 10 articles were selected after detailed analysis and insertion of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: It was identified that most articles on the topic studied are current and of the cross-sectional study type, with questionnaires being carried out with different health professionals, who found high rates of anxiety, depression and stress. Different factors were associated with the results found, including age, length of experience, gender, profession, specialty, working hours and presence of previous illnesses. Final considerations: It was concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic had a strong impact on the mental health of healthcare professionals, especially those who worked on the front line. Its incidence may worsen due to triggering factors: female gender, longer working hours, more years of professional experience, being a nurse and losing a loved one.
