Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to conduct a literature review on the treatments of non-carious cervical lesions associated with gingival recession. Methods: A search was conducted in the PubMed and Science Direct database using the descriptors "Dental erosion" and "Dental abrasion," combined with the Boolean operator "OR," and the descriptors "Gingival recession" and "Periodontology" were added with the operator "AND," all registered in DECS. Results: In this search, 148 articles were found, and after a careful review of titles and abstracts, 7 articles were selected. Clinical trials published in the last 10 years were used as inclusion criteria. Literature reviews and case reports were defined as exclusion criteria. The treatments found for cases of NCCL associated with GR include root coverage with connective tissue graft alone or combined with partial restoration of the lesion. In addition, adjunctive use of collagen matrix graft and graft modified by acellular xenogeneic dermal matrix were identified. Conclusion: Root coverage combined with partial restoration in composite resin is suitable for the treatment of NCCL associated with GR and results in less post-operative sensitivity.
