Abstract
Objective: To highlight the literature on the topic of simulations used in teaching and learning about patient safety in the surgical center. Methods: This is a descriptive study, of the Integrative Literature Review (RIL) type, in which the PICo strategy was used, the acromions correspond to: P for (Population), corresponding to nursing and medical students and preceptors; I for (Interest) which represents the use of simulation in the teaching process, and (Co) for context, this being the surgical center. The guiding question was defined as: “How can simulation collaborate in the teaching-learning process in the surgical center to promote safe surgery?” Results: 8 articles were selected, published between 2018 and 2023, of which 7 are original articles and only 1 is an experience report. Simulation becomes a facilitating method in the teaching-learning process, whose effects improve the quality of interprofessional assistance, make learning attractive and have positive impacts on the development of skills. Final considerations: Simulation becomes essential in the continuous training of educators and students, being fundamental for quality learning and patient safety.
