Abstract

Objective: To analyze the profile and the RMM in Mato Grosso in the period from 2012 to 2022. Methods: Descriptive and retrospective ecological study using secondary data from SIM and SINASC, analyzed through descriptive statistics by frequency distribution, measures of central tendency and dispersion, and calculation of the MMR. Results: The MMR in the studied period varied between 49.95/100,000 live births and 145.08/100,000 livebirths, with an average MMR of 73.98/100,000 livebirths (95% CI: 58.64 – 89.32; SD: 25.96 deaths). Regarding the causes of death, 56.98% of the deaths were classified as due to direct causes, while 41.92% of the cases were due to indirect causes. Among the direct causes, the group related to hypertension remains in first place. Conclusion: The MMR in Mato Grosso remains high, almost always above the national average. The epidemiological profile of the women reveals that the majority belong to the black population, are in the age group of highest fertility and reproductive age, and have a medium level of education. Furthermore, avoidable causes, as in there of the country, continue to lead women to death.
