Abstract
Objective: To outline the epidemiological profile of prostate diseases recorded between 2014 and 2023 in the Xingu Region/PA. Methods: This is a descriptive, retrospective study with a quantitative approach. The data were obtained by the Department of Information Technology of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). The research analyzed age, ethnicity, municipality of residence and cause of mortality due to Malignant Neoplasia of the Prostate (MPN) and Prostatic Hyperplasia (HP), with the data being tabulated and analyzed quantitatively in Excel 2019 software. Results: The prevalence of morbidity due to HP and higher mortality due to MPN were identified. The age group most affected by both conditions was 60 to 79 years old, with a predominance among brown men. The municipalities of Altamira, Vitória do Xingu and Medicilândia had the highest case rates. It was observed that mortality from NP increased progressively and, 2023, was the year with the highest number of deaths, however, BPH registered only one case. Conclusion: The study reveals the need for strategies for early screening, especially in areas with poor health infrastructure, to improve the quality of life of men, especially the elderly and vulnerable ethnic groups.
