Abstract
Objective: To develop an educational podcast for fall prevention in older adults, based on validity evidence. Methods: This mixed-methods study aimed to develop and test the validity evidence for an educational podcast. The content was developed based on information collected in interactive workshops and the Ministry of Health's Fall Prevention Protocol. To test the content validity evidence, eleven experts in human aging, seven in communication, and seven older adults were selected, using a non-probabilistic convenience sample. Results: At the end of the process, the podcast obtained a Content Validity Index of 0.95 from the experts and 1.00 from the target audience, demonstrating high agreement regarding the quality, relevance, acceptance, and comprehension of the information. Furthermore, some changes were made to achieve excellence in the material. Conclusion: Therefore, the validated podcast represents an important tool for promoting health in older adults, as it offers accessible and extremely relevant information for fall prevention. As a resource available online, free of charge and in an engaging format, the technology will have a positive effect on the lives of the target audience, encouraging significant changes and improving quality of life.
