Abstract

Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of populations with altered cytology and access to colposcopy in Amazonas, correlating health indicators with geographical and socioeconomic factors. Methods: An epidemiological, ecological, and retrospective study (2020–2025) was conducted using SISCAN and DATASUS data. Variables such as age group, MHDI, and distance from the capital were analyzed. Chi-Square, Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman correlation, and K-means clustering tests were applied using R software (v. 4.5.0). Results: A positive association was observed between the capital and age groups over 50, while the interior showed greater representation among those aged 30 to 40. Distance from Manaus correlated negatively with cytological coverage and the prevalence of normal exams, resulting in higher proportional demand for colposcopy in remote areas. MHDI and cytological coverage showed a positive correlation with the prevalence of normal results. Conclusion: Geographical barriers and socioeconomic disparities in Amazonas compromise patient follow-up. Cervical cancer control in the region requires strengthening public policies that address logistical challenges and promote equity, with diagnostic decentralization and the expansion of vaccine coverage and qualified screening being essential.
