Resumen
Objetivo: Identificar evidencia en la literatura para el uso de bupropión en el tratamiento del trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad (TDAH). Métodos: Revisión integradora de literatura, incluyendo artículos publicados entre 1990 y 2022, en inglés, español o portugués. La pregunta orientadora fue: ¿Existe evidencia para el uso de bupropión en el tratamiento del TDAH? La selección de los descriptores universales a utilizar se hizo consultando los Descriptores de Ciencias de la Salud (DeCS) y los Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), siendo los descriptores en inglés (Bupropion, Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity y Drug Therapy), español (Bupropión, Trastorno por Déficit de Atención con Hiperactividad e Quimooterapia) y portugués (Bupropiona, Transtorno do Deficit de Atenção com Hiperatividade y Tratamento Farmacológico), realizando combinaciones con términos utilizando el operador booleano “AND”. Resultados: 21 artículos cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión y fueron utilizados para el desarrollo del estudio. Presentan datos generales sobre la eficacia, seguridad y uso de bupropión evaluados directa o indirectamente frente a psicoestimulantes para tratar el TDAH. Consideraciones finales: A pesar de los resultados contradictorios en la literatura, el bupropión puede ser un tratamiento alternativo para el TDAH en individuos con características específicas.
