Abstract

Objective: We sought to analyze publications in the literature related to the importance of nursing care and nutrition in preventing falls in the elderly. Literature review: Population aging is a global phenomenon. In Brazil, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), a change in the shape of the age pyramid can already be seen. With this advance in the elderly population, measures were needed to prevent the risk of falls. In this context, the nursing and nutrition team is essential and necessary to identify the factors. Final considerations: In this sense, the nurse has an important role, as it draws up a care plan and recognizes the risks and the nutritionist works to ensure a good nutritional status to ensure that possible dietary deficiencies are addressed.
