Abstract

Objective: To identify points of dialogue between the Pedagogy of the Oppressed, conceived by Paulo Freire, and the Pedagogy of Listening, developed by Loris Malaguzzi, as a possible strategy to address contemporary challenges in Education toward the proposal of a humanizing Education, which aims to overcome existing oppressions in society. Literature review: Several theoretical connections were identified, either by similarity or complementarity, such as the educator(teacher) / learner(child) relationship, dialogue, planning, the languages used in learning processes, and the connection with context and society. Final considerations: It was concluded that the dialogue between these approaches provides a robust theoretical foundation for fostering an Education that promotes holistic learning for those involved in educational processes, as well as encouraging transformative actions in reality, respecting and valuing human diversity, and each citizen's capacity and right to a humanizing education.
