Abstract
Objective: To report the elaboration and application of a didactic sequence of Microbiology for students of the 2nd grade of High School, using low-cost materials and contextualized practices, focusing on meaningful learning, student protagonism and understanding of the microbiological universe. Experience report: The activities were developed in a public school in Gurupi/TO, which included four proposals: construction of posters, practice on hand hygiene, cultivation of microorganisms and production of bread with yeasts. The actions took place in the classroom, laboratory and kitchen, using textbooks, video, simple materials and digital resources. During the process, reflective records were made that helped in the analysis of engagement, difficulties and necessary adaptations. Active participation, curiosity and reconstruction of misconceptions were observed, especially about the role of microorganisms, bringing everyday life closer to classroom contents. Final considerations: The experience showed that investigative practices, even in contexts with structural limitations, strengthen learning, stimulate critical thinking, promote changes in habits and the collective construction of new knowledge about Microbiology. In addition, it encouraged reading, the study of microorganisms and the practical application of the knowledge acquired, that is, an accessible didactic sequence in line with the guidelines of the BNCC.
