Abstract

Objective: To investigate the importance of using educational technologies and the means of preventing complications from surgical wounds. Methods: This is a descriptive research, of the integrative review type. Searches were carried out in online databases: BVS, SciELO and Google Scholar. N=1,685 publications were found, where titles and abstracts were analyzed, dated between 2018 and 2022 and that addressed the importance of using educational technologies in the prevention of complications of surgical wounds (OP); n=176 publications were pre-selected for evaluation through full reading; finally, n=15 publications were included in the final sample. Results: The advancement of educational technology makes it possible to create activities that contribute to the improvement of health care. The interactive teaching-learning strategy makes it possible to advance the quality of patient care through care and dissemination of useful information, involving materials that aim to support interaction. Final considerations: Despite the relevance of educational technologies linked to disease prevention, few studies directly relating their use in the care provided to patients with OC have been developed in the country in recent years, evidencing the knowledge gap in the area.
