Nursing process in the care of people with intestinal ostomy

Abstract
Objective: To characterize as scientific evidence about the Nursing Process in the care of people with intestinal ostomy. Methods: Integrative review carried out in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Database in Nursing, Index Bibliographic Español en Ciencias de la Salud and Coleciona SUS databases in February 2023. Results: The corpus consisted of nine articles, seven from Brazil. The journals with the highest number of publications were Revista Enfermagem em Foco and Revista de Enfermagem UFPE Online. All studies had evidence level VI. Based on the analysis, two thematic categories were elaborated: “Development and use of technologies to support the implementation of the Nursing Process in the care of people with an intestinal ostomy” and “Nursing Diagnoses as guidelines for the care of people with an intestinal ostomy”. Final considerations: The studies were published, mainly, in the last five years, in national journals, and have a low level of evidence. The identified scientific evidence involves, mainly, the development of technologies for the implementation of the Nursing Process and the importance of Nursing Diagnoses as guiding to the care.
