Abstract
Objective: To evaluate scientific evidence related to health education practices developed by nurses in health care for women with breast cancer. Methods: Integrative literature review, with bibliographic survey carried out via databases of the Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library, Pubmed portal and SciVerse Scopus database. Original studies in Portuguese, English or Spanish were included, without a time frame, justified by the intention to identify the production of knowledge over time on this topic. Results: The corpus consisted of 17 articles and data analysis allowed to group them into three thematic categories: Use of educational technologies as a source of information, Health education for tracking and early diagnosis: what helps and what makes it difficult?, And Nurse as a health educator: helping women living with breast cancer. Final considerations: Educational technologies are important strategies to enable the provision of health information, enabling women living with breast cancer to understand their health-disease process. Furthermore, the nurse is seen as a reference figure in the development of health education, in order to contribute to the development of coping and self-care strategies.
