Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the indication for cesarean section in adolescents aged 10 to 19 years according to the Robson classification. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study with adolescent parturients undergoing cesarean section between June 2023 and June 2024 at the Regional Hospital of the Federal District. Data were collected retrospectively from the unified Trackcare system of the State Health Secretariat of the Federal District. Results: The study included 107 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The mean age was 17.6±1.3 years. The most frequent Robson classifications were group 1 (25.2%), group 2 (42.1%), and group 6 (10.3%). The primary reason for cesarean section in adolescent pregnant women was acute fetal distress (38.3%). Approximately 57.9% of deliveries were induced; in groups 2 and 4, 51.7% were induced with misoprostol (mean of 3±2 tablets, range 1-6), and 31% with oxytocin. Fetal presentation was cephalic in 87.9% of cases. Conclusion: Groups 1, 2, and 6 represent the main clinical challenges, with fetal distress and induction failure being key factors in group 2. In group 6, prematurity and abnormal presentation impacted obstetric management. Neonatal risk was higher in more complex groups.
