Abstract
Objective: To analyze the available studies on the dietary and biochemical profile of patients with Chagas disease in the chronic phase. Methods: This is an integrative review with articles indexed in the BVS (Virtual Health Library), PUBMED, Web of Science, SciELO databases between 2015 and 2025. The acronym PICo was used to guide the research, defining the question of this work. Results: From the selected studies, it was observed that patients diagnosed with Chagas disease had high consumption of sodium, saturated fats, and micronutrient deficiencies. The results on the biochemical profile varied. Final considerations: There are few studies available on the relationship between the biochemical and nutritional profile of patients with Chagas disease in the chronic phase. More robust studies are needed to gain knowledge regarding dietary strategies and to ensure that patients are properly assisted. Therefore, this work seeks to fill this gap, which has been neglected.
